"The U.S. Supreme Court has overturned a landmark 1986 ruling that forbid the police from questioning suspects without their attorney present. The 1986 case, Michigan v Jackson, was overturned on Tuesday in a 5-4 ruling (PDF) in a similar case, Montejo v Louisiana".

This is just another shot to the heart of our liberties, another chance for the system to "catch you". Its sad, I remember asking my friend Maya, who is an Israeli but has dual citizenship in the USA, which country she likes living in more. She didnt really answer the question but she said one big thing she doesnt like about the USA is that it feels like you are getting busted for everything. Cops will use a burnt out tail light just to pull you over and find other things to bust you for. You get a jay walking ticket and if you argue how BS it is you are arested for assault on a police officer. Its just not like that, those laws are there so if it becomes an issue they can deal with it, not an opportunity to write more citations.

Interesting links for the day
These are the guys that decided what the Bible says, seems like that alone leaves room for human error in the Bible.
You are wasting time and energy by washing your dishes before putting them in the dish washer. Ideal you would scrap them off and stick them in without any pre-wash.
Scientists have discovered key genes that slow the ageing process, which could lead to new hope for people suffering from illnesses ranging from heart disease to Alzheimer's.

Is water boarding torture?
This is a video of "Mancow", a morning talk show host volunteering to be water boarded to prove it is not torture. The average person can last 14 seconds, he lasted 6. He says as much as he hates to admit it, that most certainly is torture.

Links for the day...
This is what is wrong with our country and this is why we cant continue to throw money at the problem.....we are giving it to people like her to spend!!!
Recently scientists are bringing to light what may be the link between mammals and primates. This fossil is remarkably preserved down to being able to determine the contents of the stomach. Some features that are so suprising is the presence of nails instead of claws yet doesnt have early adations like the "toothcomb". This is a truely remarkable find if it is determined to be real. Another forgotten chapter of the book we call life.
Until recently I knew nothing about Jesse Ventura or his political views but I must say, the more I hear the more I want to know about him.

Finally got my 2007 Subaru Legacy GT tuned!
I went up to Fontana this past weekend to get Infamous1 from legacygt.com to tune my car. It was a long drive so I figure I might as well bring Trixie with me.
I left around 8am and was up there for a 10am tuning session. Shamar got started right away and after some setup we went out for our first data logging runs.
After a few good pulls (for the car at the time) we needed to find a wifi hot spot to download things to the laptop and start the tuning process. So I whip out my nifty G1 from T-mobile and fire up a wifi hot spot under a nice palm tree in the commercial district on a saturday.
I think Trixie was the most excited about this convenience provided by my G1 and the xda community.
After some a while the conversions were done. We went for a few more pulls on the road and Shamar did some final tweaking and tuning. Then we went back to hookup the wideband to make sure the K&N intake was properly tuned. One thing to note, he mentioned that the 07+ has a much more consistent boost which makes him job much easier. Across the broad, from the feedback I got he seemed to prefer my turbo, score 1 for the black sheep of the LGT generations!
Anyways, after about 2.5 hours we were done and I was on my way home. I have been trying since then to get the CEL I used to get (IIRC P0244) with no luck and my car pulls like a Tug of War champion on steroids so I am extatic with the results. I just wish I would have done it sooner.
Thank you Shamar and thank you xda-developers.com!

Daily Report
The U.S. Supreme Court handed medical marijuana patients and advocates a resounding victory on Monday, refusing to hear a case brought by San Diego County, which has long chafed at implementing statewide medical marijuana laws.
The state of California, in an effort to systematize the 1996 voter-approved initiative, required localities to implement identification card programs for patients with doctor approval in 2004. Such ID cards are required to enter medical marijuana shops in California and can be shown to police officers who find patients in possession of marijuana.
San Diego County, however, argued that the federal ban on marijuana trumps the state law, meaning they are not required to follow the state law. The county filed suit in 2006. Both the San Diego Superior Court and the Fourth District Court of Appeals rejected the argument, which was followed by the California Supreme Court's refusal to review the case in 2008.
"I have been very pleased with the progress of my legislation, HR 1207, which calls for a complete audit of the Federal Reserve and removes many significant barriers towards transparency of our monetary system. This bill now has nearly 170 cosponsors, with support from both Republicans and Democrats. Senator Bernie Sanders has introduced a companion bill in the Senate S 604, which will hopefully begin to gain momentum as well. I am very encouraged to see so many of my colleagues in Congress stand with me for greater transparency in government."
- Ron Paul
Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, making a guest appearance on ABC’s The View, gave co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck a lesson or two about the torture technique known as waterboarding.
Ventura, who underwent a barrage of torture techniques at the military Survival, Evade, Resist and Escape (SERE) school, confirmed for Hasselbeck that waterboarding is torture and not just an "enhanced interrogation technique."
"If waterboarding is okay, why don’t we let our police do it to suspects to learn what they know?" he asked to a chorus of applause.

My favorite android software
Here is the list of apps I love. All of them are installed to my SD card so even when I flash a new build I can keep all of my applications in tact, I just loose the settings:
- ASTRO - one stop file solution
- Caller ID by White Pages
- Documents to Go - open and edit word/excel files
- Flashlight
- Klaxon Alarm - because the alarm can increase in volume over time
- Locale - absolute favorite app and the most used (silence your phone at work by GPS location)
- Missed Call
- NewsRob - RSS reader
- Open Overclocker - works amazingly in conjunction with AppstoSD
- Visual Voicemail - I replaced youmail.com with this
- Spell Dial
- Toggle Settings
- Ultimate Stopwatch
- Wifi Tether
- Wikitude AR Travel Guide - the future of traveling
Food for Thought
The little know “Overview Effect” is something unexplained and experienced by many people. Is it possible a simple change of perspective can change the way our minds think?
